Susan Hutchison looks to "stealth" her way into office
I was driving home from work last year at the height of the Presidential Elections campaign. Now, being an Independent, I have always prided myself on listening to both sides of the aisle, while basing my final judgment on irrefutable facts as they come. So, on this particular day (I can't quite remember what month or specific day as its been so long), as I listened to the David Boze show while driving home, there were two female guests on the show. One was Peggy Boze (David's wife) and the other was Susan Hutchison, the former Kiro News Anchor and now candidate for the elected office of King County Executive.
As usual, their favorite topic of discussion was none other than then Democratic Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama. This was the usual practice on Mr. Boze's show as he literally spent 85% of his show talking about the current President, something I found ironic since you would naturally expect the "Seattle Conservative" talk-show host to spend more time extolling the virtues of his then candidate, John McCain.
That Susan Hutchison has now put her hat in the race for the King County Executive position is not surprising, at least not to me. What is however surprising to me is that she is being taken seriously. On that show (on that fateful day), one singular comment, as a function of a directed statement showed me the extent of her dearth of logical reasoning. This will lead to a convergence of requisite information that will show Ms. Hutchison to be nothing more than the Pacific Northwest's own version of Sarah Palin. Now, while the latter may be good enough for Alaska, the former, a certified clone, I must confess would be an unfathomable error of judgment when one considers the fact that Washington has twice the national average with regard to "formal education".
Now to the singular comment I had alluded to, Ms. Hutchison expressed her dismay at the candidacy of Barack Obama, saying it would be better for people who were thinking of voting for him to write-in Bill Cosby. I beg your pardon! Now, I thought my ears were actually failing me, but then she reiterated the point again saying she had met Mid-Westerners who felt Barack Obama was "arrogant" (a common Republican talking point) and that a write-in for Bill Cosby would be better than a vote for the current President of the United States. Well, who else would we need at a time when we are fighting two wars, going through the worst economic cycle in decades and struggling to keep even a semblance of the American Dream alive? A comedian of course, who just happens to be black also, now that should take care of the historical component of it I guess, going by Ms. Hutchison's highly perceptive deduction. All through that particular show, at least for the time she was on, apart from this comment, the most significant other contribution she made to the discussions had to do with the color of Todd Palin's eyes and how she could see right through them (much like George W. Bush could see into Putin's soul and her mentor could see Russia from her balcony in Alaska). Trust me when I say this, Susan Hutchison is no moderate and neither is she a free-thinking conservative with an ability to pioneer in original thinking. Like her idol in Alaska, she is an extremely ambitious individual, and while there is nothing necessarily wrong with that per se, selfish ambition at the expense of integrity, fairness and the common good speaks to a cold, calculated and callous DNA masked by an amiable persona, one actually steeped in incendiary and obfuscated machinations.
For the record, Susan Hutchison is a right wing conservative and nothing, not even her recent juxtaposition of hair color should change that fact. The "non-partisan" candidate for King County Executive was until recently, a board member of the right-wing creationist Discovery Institute. She also supported Mike Huckabee in the last Presidential primaries on the Republican ticket. As you would also guess, she was one of the main proponents of Initiative 26 which called for non-party affiliation delineations for all elections in King County. She is but a mere pawn in the evolving but doomed GOP scheme to immerse themselves in critical positions within various State Counties across the nation as they hope for a rebirth of their politics of hate and agenda of regression in coming elections. A close look at the history of her campaign contributions will show Ms. Hutchison to be a full-fledged right-wing conservative with the same agenda as the Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannity's of the world:

Susan Hutchison has never contributed a penny to any Democrat or Independent candidate, never! The reality is that the GOP see her as an "in" into the long held bastion of liberal and progressive politics, that is Seattle. They may however have miscalculated the extent of the opposition to the platform of the GOP as presently constituted. If you must vote for Susan Hutchison, you might as well write-in Sarah Palin. At least then, you would be assured of the "real thing."
