A rare joint “ransomware alert” has been issued to hospitals in the U.S. and Canada on the heels of Baltimore’s Union Memorial Hospital seeing one of the latest ransomware attacks with hackers using malware to shut down the use of the hospital’s computers. The ransomware alert was prompted when several private security agencies warned that this crisis of malware holding businesses and hospitals ransom could get much worse.
