One day after sharing the WNBA's player of the week award, former Stanford star Candice Wiggins had another big game on Tuesday, helping the Minnesota Lynx to their third straight win.
Wiggins had 23 points -- her third straight game of more than 20 -- to lead Minnesota's 92-85 victory over the Atlanta Dream in Atlanta.
Wiggins has become the team's top offensive threat since leading scorer Seimone Augustus was lost for the season with a torn anterior-cruciate ligament. She had 25 points in a June 23 victory over New York and 22 in the June 27 win over Phoenix.
And on Tuesday she scored 17 of her 23 points in the first half when the Lynx's took control. Wiggins then hit two three-pointers early in the second half to push the lead to eight points with 7:51 left in the third quarter. Wiggins did not score again as Minnesota stayed comfortably ahead.
Wiggins was 4-for-8 on threes for the game and also added four steals.
