The world’s largest convenience retailer was born 82 years ago in Dallas, Texas, as the Southland Ice Company – and still calls Dallas home today.

Detroit, Mich., area: Two friends from Detroit, Mich., will embark on a journey July 11 of epic ounces. Slurpee fans Kyle Bauer and Andrew Webb will attempt to consume 40 free Slurpees each from 7.11-ounce cups – that’s nearly 285 ounces of Slurpee beverage – from 7-Eleven stores across the state of Michigan. The two have been celebrating 7-Eleven Day in this manner since 2004, each year increasing the number of Slurpee drinks they consume.
Be sure and visit a Dallas-area 7-Eleven for your free Slurpee drink before heading out on your day trip!
Participating 7-Eleven stores: Free 7.11-ounce Slurpee cups will include a non-unique Slurpee Nation rewards code that will allow consumers to register on Slurpee.com and enter the 7-Eleven Day sweepstakes. From 7 a.m. to 11 p.m July 11, customers will also have the chance to win one of 711 Live Nation concert cash codes worth $50 toward concert tickets sold on livenation.com. In addition, customers will receive a code to purchase concert tickets to see popular bands for $7.11 only on livenation.com Saturday, July 11.

Southern California “Slurpee-bration” 2009: In a pre-party this Friday night, 100 die-hard Slurpee fans who line up at the North Hollywood store will receive a one-year supply of Slurpee drinks. The event will include live entertainment and a raffle for additional prizes throughout the evening.
