Denzel Wells looks like a picture of health at first glance. But looks can be so deceiving. For now, the redshirt freshman wide receiver from Houston Cy Falls is done as a Rice football player. He will need season ending shoulder surgery. See the story here.
Wells would have added so much more depth and speed to an already talented group of receivers. It is unfortunate for him. However, he is a talented young man with a his future in front of him regardless of whether he decides to try his hand at the sport of football again or not. This is wishing him all the best.
Speaking of bright futures, we continue down that same path to another talented wide receiver who, by the looks of his play on the field, is having a very impressive camp. Redshirt junior wide receiver Patrick Randolph is making the catches, darting past and leaping over defensive backs with his God-given skills to snag the football, and is making it all look rather easy.
We had an opportunity to catch up and chat with the talented pass catcher.
