"Hell is a terrible place. And you will go there if you are not forgiven by Jesus Christ. But he will forgive you for anything. With one exception... If you deny the power or existance of the Holy Spirit, you are damned to Hell forever."

So begins "The Blasphemy Challenge," a video first put out in 2006 by the Rational Response Squad, a group of individuals who advertise themselves as your friendly neighborhood atheist activists. And active they are! They provide numerous online forums, newsletters, produce livestream and other videos and maintain their own network of sites, Among the videos in their library are atheist news events, expose's of faith-based con-men and debates between the RRS and Christians like Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort (the guy who famously claimed the banana was the atheist's worse nightmare). Always in the top 10 though and arguably their most popular video, is "The Blasphemy Challenge."

Using the biblical quotation, "Whosoever blasphemes the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven" (Mark 3:29) as their inspiration, the Rational Response Squad challenges Youtube viewers to upload short videos of themselves declaring their independance from Stone Age superstition by blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. Initially, they offered to send people free copies of the DVD, The God Who Wasn't There but, since response was so great and they only had 1001 copies, I think they've long since run out. People, however, are still uploading their videos. So, do you have a soul you're not using?
