'Sitting Down to Take a Stand'--Maryland Humanities Council honors Rosa Parks

The Maryland Humanities Council celebrates Rosa Parks' legacy on December 1st at 10:30 AM in the World Famous Lexington Market's Arcade.  The celebration will feature a performance from actress Gwendolyn Briley Strand's one-woman show based on Rosa Parks.  "Sitting Down to Take a Stand--Remembering Rosa Parks" is a four-month long celebration organized by the Maryland Humanities Council. December 1, 2008 is the 53rd anniversary of Parks' refusal to cede her seat to a white bus rider.
