Triple Bliss White Pizza

Pizza is to a cook what a blank canvas is to an artist. The potential for creative expression is nearly limitless. Anything could happen.

With white pizza, toppings don't compete with tomato sauce for your taste buds' attention. The harmony of vegetables, herbs and spices take center stage, and their intense colors create a visual temptation.

Let's make a white pizza that combines the flavors of fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and caramelized onions. This savory pizza will satisfy both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

Triple Bliss White Pizza

2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 medium sweet yellow onion, sliced thinly
one 11-inch frozen pizza crust
olive oil
1 1/2 - 2 cups shredded pizza blend cheese
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 pinch thyme
1 pinch pepper
1 medium tomato, sliced thinly
5 basil leaves, torn into small pieces

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add onion slices to the pan and cook over medium heat until caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Lightly coat pizza crust with olive oil. Bake for 5 minutes, or until crust is lightly golden brown on the edges.
  4. Remove pizza crust from the oven. Top with cheese. Distribute garlic, thyme and pepper evenly on top of the cheese.
  5. Add tomato slices in a single layer.
  6. Scatter basil pieces on top of the tomato slices.
  7. Return pizza to the 425-degree oven. Bake for 5-7 minutes, assuring that cheese has melted completely.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve.

 Enjoy!
