There is a theory that time is moving faster! I know I've heard that it moves faster and faster as people age, . . . but over night? Whew! I just finished two articles and already I just received more Roswell events today!!!
My articles on Roswell have proven to be wildly successful and have rated the top in the nation, but I guess there is just too much happening in Roswell for the action to rest, even if but for a moment.. In anticipation of the Roswell UFO Festival, here is an update that was sent to me by e-mail as added to the exciting events over the 4th of July weekend. This sounds like even more fun . . . can't wait to get there!.
KARAOKE CONTEST
Alien Idol has finally arrived to the Amazing Roswell UFO Festival giving aspiring singers a chance to show their talents. Beginning June 12-July 1, local entertainers can show off their pipes weekly to compete for cash prizes..
Participation in the contest is easy, does not include any brutal auditions and is free of charge. Preliminary competition begins June 12th and lasts for two weeks. Finalists will be selected by their peers in the preliminary rounds. Contestants must be a minimum of 21 years of age and there is no maximum age limit. Prizes will be awarded

AWARD WINNING PLAYWRIGHT BRINGS UFO PLAY, “TOP SECRET: MAJIC” TO LINE UP OF UFO FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
Organizers for the 2009 Amazing Roswell UFO Festival are proud to announce the addition of a major new American play to the already exciting line-up of activities. Two showings of the world premier of the staged reading of TOP SECRET: MAJIC, written by Marty Martin and casted and directed by Carol Dishmand with the Roswell Community Little Theatre, will be performed at the NMMI Pearson Auditorium on Sunday, July 5th at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
This riveting two-act play is staged during the summer of 1947 and is set in Roswell and Washington, D.C. The characters it brings to life include local citizens, military personnel and ranking officials in the nation’s capital who were among the first to become aware of the Roswell crash, all struggling to come to grips with the event’s shattering implications.

Visitors at the 2009 Amazing Roswell UFO Festival will be able to “Shop Roswell and Beyond” with the Amazing UFO Festival Passport Program, Companionship Program and Galactic Vendor Exhibition during the four-day event.
Amazing Roswell UFO Festival Passports, in limited supply, will be distributed to UFO Festival-goers during the Opening Night Celebration on Thursday, July 2 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Roswell Convention Center parking lot, facilitated by the Roswell Chamber of Commerce Red Coats. Last year, 24 local businesses participated in this exciting program. The number is expected to increase this year.

2009 ROSWELL UFO FESTIVAL IS BRINGING BACK THE MISS ROSWELL SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT The 2009 Roswell UFO Festival organizers are pleased to announce that they are bringing back the Miss Roswell Scholarship Pageant during the UFO Festival on July 1, 2009 at NMMI’s Pearson Auditorium.
The UFO Festival Committee is looking for young women who represent the best of the Roswell Community and who can be role models for other women. Entrants must be 17 years of age and no older than 24 years of age on December 31, 2009 and a resident of Chaves County. Applications may be picked up at the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau located at 912 N. Main Street or downloaded from www.UFOfestivalRoswell.com.
Two titles will be awarded, “Miss Roswell UFO Festival” and “Miss Robert H. Goddard” along with two scholarships in the amount of $250 each. The winners will go on to compete in the Miss New Mexico Pageant in June, 2010. The top four finalists will perform at the Festival’s Opening Night Celebration at the Roswell Convention Center parking lot on Thursday, July 2nd from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. and the winners will be crowned by Mayor..
