A long time ago, you may have read something about an iPhone application called AT&T Navigator developer by TeleNav. In all honesty, while the price tag might be a little steep, the application itself is fantastic and this weekend is a prime example of that.
We are dealing with a nightmare here in the Bay Area, beginning in today. The Bay Bridge is being closed for retrofitting and yes, this weekend is Labor Day. It is a disaster of epic proportions and hopefully no one has watched Falling Down with Michael Douglas lately.
However, if you have watched it, TeleNav should be able to quell your impending road rage.
City officials and what not are encouraging people to find alternate routes to get to their destinations. Thanks, how about a little bit of elaboration? That’s where TeleNav comes in. Their engineers have taken it upon themselves to help you stay mobile this weekend.
All routing on their GPS devices which include the TeleNav GPS Navigator, AT&T Navigator, Sprint Navigation and Alltel Navigation, will all automatically direct customers to detours that don’t involve the Bay Bridge.
The best part is that these are real-time updates and there is no other iPhone application on the market that has done this.
So kudos to TeleNav because they are definitely the trendsetters in the on-board GPS service market.
If you happen to have one of these programs, and you live in the Bay Area, head over to their blog and give them some feedback.
Enjoy the long weekend everybody.
