Please, don't make alien Alec Baldwin angry.
Let’s start this off by making one thing perfectly clear; this news is not for Apple users. This only applies to people running Windows, so if you are running OS X, today, like most days, is a lucky one and you don't have to worry about lost potential.
If you are running Windows, are an avid watched of Hulu and caught wind of being able to watch it offline, please get out your tissues.
The news?
Lifehacker was reporting that a third party tool called Hulu Video Downloader had surfaced for download.
What did it claim to do?
Well, have you ever lost internet connection while watching a show? Ever wanted to take something you found on Hulu somewhere without internet connection? Maybe even move it to a different computer?
If your answers to those two questions are yes, then this tool was definitely for you.
Basically, it says you can copy and paste the Hulu URL of the show or clip that you want to download and with a little ripping magic, save it to your desktop in pretty much any format you wish.
Obviously that magic was witchcraft because virtually no one can get this thing to work.
This is a good thing.
One, the interface is absolutely horrific, two, you need to pay for the pro version in order to rip in high definition and three, Hulu is a fantastic site and this thing, if widely used, could influence them to change their format in unwelcomed ways. You also have to think that Hulu would have pierced this thing through its virtual heart very, very swiftly.
So if you heard about this earlier and were looking forward to using it, you're going to have to keep on dreaming.
