This pirate probably has an iPhone 3G S.

If you were looking to unlock or jailbreak your iPhone, now you can do it.

You may have missed yesterday’s news about the release of a working jailbreak for the iPhone 3G S that was unveiled over the 4th of July weekend. As for a little background, ‘Purplera1n’ came about because Dev Team, the group that normally releases these things for iPhone users, is waiting until OS 3.1 comes out to reveal their jailbreak.

You know someone is always going to step up to the plate when it comes to something like this, how could they not.

Now that you have been brought up to speed, it is time to bring up the other news surrounding the ‘Purplera1n” jailbreak and yes, the reports about it being released for OS X are true.

It has been confirmed that Dev Team’s 'UltraSn0w' unlock works with the recently released jailbreak. More than a few users have reported problems but after waiting for this for several weeks it is no surprise that a lot of 3G S users have jumped right in.

Yes, there are probably still more than a few users out there that are waiting for Dev Team to release their jailbreak for the 3.1, and maybe you should, but if this is something that you have been looking forward to doing, it works.

Again, do your research and attempt this at your own risk.
