Dress by Simply Vera Vera Wang at Kohl's
One of my favorite shopping spots is Kohl’s, located in Colma on El Camino Real. I first thought Kohl’s was a mediocre department store similar to Mervyn’s, but my sister was the first to discover the impressive list of exclusive designers who create lines just for Kohl’s. Wedding dress designer, Vera Wang, creates clothing, intimates, shoes and accessories for Kohl’s under the brand name, Simply Vera. From elegant prints to creative draping, Vera Wang’s line for Kohl’s looks pricey but with Kohl’s famous markdowns, you can get an entire outfit for under $100. I just purchased the perfect dark denim slim capris for only $36.
Elle magazine has its own clothing brand exclusively available at Kohl’s. From dresses to cover-ups, Elle designs are inspired from the trend forecasts that fill the pages of Elle magazine. Another surprising brand is from the former model and TV host Daisy Fuentes. Daisy Fuentes designs form conscious clothing along that is casual and filled with color.
Besides having brands that actually make attractive clothing, Kohl’s is all about the markdowns. Everything in the store is lower than the original price and check out Kohl’s website for seasonal sales. The last time I was there was a sale that offered a free item of clothing when the first item is purchased at full price. So I walked out with two tops for the price of one and saved almost $40.
