Don't let those hoaxes and urban legends spread around work!

If your employees are sending around junk email to everyone in the office, put a stop to it!  Not only are these emails usually hoaxes but sending emails that are not business related are a big waste of time!  Tell your employees that if they think an email is worth passing around they need to check it first to see if it's valid.  There are many sites on the web that will let you know if an email is true.  Here are just a few:

Snopes:  Snopes is probably the most popular site to check urban legends.  If you got an email that you think might be false info a quick search on Snopes should be all it takes to set the story straight.  You probably don't need to go any further than Snopes but I'm still going to give you other sites to check out because some of the stuff on these sites is very fun and interesting to read!

Urban Legends Online: This is a very informative site for your typical urban legends but they go a bit beyond and cover superstitions too.  They like the creepy stuff like hauntings, ghosts, deadly spiders.  A fun site to visit if you like that sort of thing!

Truth or Fiction: This is yet another very informative site which also has a list of the Top 20 stories for the current hour right there on their homepage.   You can keep up to date on the latest hoaxes before you even get the emails from your friends!

You can also click here for even more sites that will help you decide if an email is valid.  So please, before you forward that email to everyone in the office be a good employee and look the info first.  It will only take you one minute to find out if your email contains a hoax.  And your co-workers will be happy you didn't send them junk mail.
