Anyone who uses the internet is at risk for spyware, viruses, and more. As online gamers, we're particularly vulnerable - and even becoming targetted by threats, the least of which is keyloggers. In fact, this week Microsoft released a report showing that online gamers are being specifically targeted.
According to Lavasoft, makers of Ad-Aware, gamers are targeted 600% more than before. That's why they've devised a special Game Edition of Ad-Aware, their anti-spyware, anti-virus software. One of the main differences about Game Edition is that it doesn't suspend protection when another program is running in full screen mode, and doesn't interrupt the player if malware is found.
From the Press Release:
“Gamers and online entertainment fans are in a high risk group in terms of computer security – spending long periods of time connected to the Internet, at risk from opportunistic cyber thieves. At the same time, there’s a struggle to find security solutions that won’t impact online experience. The Game Edition was developed specifically with the needs of this niche market in mind, giving users the ability to protect their privacy and security from cyber crooks as they work and play in full-screen mode,” says Lavasoft CEO Jason King.
If you're thinking about getting Ad-Aware Game Edition, you can purchase it on ShieldPowerUp, and the purchase includes a free game. Trial editions are also available.
