February is National Heart Health Month, and we at Examiner are going to touch on the many big and small ways you can honor your own ticker this month. 

Let's begin at the beginning, with the ABC's of prevention. According to the National Heart Association (AHA), they're:

Avoid tobacco

Be active

Choose a healthy diet

Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, simple but not always easy. The AHA's graphic gives a little (not a lot) more detail around risk factors that tie in to an area. If one or more of these areas sound like one that you can make some improvements in, then a great place to start is the AHA website.
