Today, Mile Hi Church (MHC) in Lakewood, CO announced expansion of their animal ministry,     calling it the MHC IAM, an International Animal Ministry. “This is the first ministry of its kind,” said Dr. Patty Luckenbach, "To bless, celebrate and honor all pets in their various cycles of life.” Luckenbach explained, "The ministry is founded on a vision of compassionate service to both animals and humans." The church plans to offer hospice and pet therapy support services, pet grief loss counseling and humane education to human companions.

On September 19th, the ministry is hosting the 4th annual Animal Care Affair and Pet Blessing at 9079 W. Alameda Avenue. It includes animal related exhibits and vendors, demonstrations, snacks, musical entertainment, animal adoption and a special blessing ceremony. It is complimentary, open to the public and pets are welcome.

The kick off on Friday evening features well-known animal communicator Kate Solisti, and author and life coach Kathy Pike. Pike is a leader in the field of Equine Facilitated Learning. They will speak on the Healing Power of Animals. Tickets are required, pet food donations will be accepted and distributed to area shelters.
