Public Punishment for the Excise Man, 1774

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one: for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries BY A GOVERNMENT, which we might expect in a country WITHOUT GOVERNMENT, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer.

Thomas Paine 1776 - Common Sense

It's in every national publication, on every news website and blog of any political consequence. As Americans we are all aware we have three branches of government, and cynically we are used to hearing lies and corruption from all of them.

Cynically we have left behind the days when having found a major leader of that government as being so utterly corrupted as to be utterly unbelievable in anything, of calling that leader to account with the loss of their position. In other words, we no longer summarily fire them.

In America we once tarred and feathered them! If they were lucky, in colonial days they could run back to mother England. If they were unlucky and or their crimes heinous enough, they got to meet the Liberty Tree, they were hanged.

Today… today we allow them to continue it.

We allow them to return D.C. as lobbyists, to make millions from the now utterly corrupted Federal government.
We are not just getting close to the tyranny that the founders feared, we are living right smack in the middle of it.

Nancy Pelosi has been an absolute harridan when it comes to the Bush Administration, the Iraq war, issues like Abu Ghraib, and Guantanamo Bay Cuba. She has been lying for years about the issues surrounding these places. She has been accusing leaders of the party opposing hers for years with lies about torture. She has been lying about what caused the Housing crisis, which is in short, her party and long term Social engineering by the democrat party going back decades. She has lied about ACORN and her support for them and the Socialist work they have been doing since the 1960’s. Under her leadership, we now have rampant socialism, which is now so far from the freedom the founding fathers intended for these United States, it’s nearly laughable; if it were not so damned sad.

This being said, are we going to let her and the Congress get away with this blatant and frankly unacceptable hypocrisy?

In 1775 our leaders Thomas Paine, George Washington, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, these men all fought the type of imperialism that is now being shoved down our throats. What’s more, the British that they opposed with their lives were actually more honorable than the government we have now. The tea tax which sparked the Boson Tea party… was 3 pence. It was not the price of the tax, it was the fact that the colonials did not believe that the British had the RIGHT to tax them as the colonies had no representation in Parliament; Taxation without representation. The principle meant more than the money.

Apparently America has abandoned principle.

When we have leaders who are levying the taxes on the people, who are so absolutely and clearly corrupt, then we are indeed living under a government that is taxing us without representing us. They are robbing us. Our founders NEVER intended that the Federal Government have the power to tax us. Quite the opposite, the states could tax, at the local level, and the states could then deal with our local needs. It is becoming clearer every day; we are living with a system that has set itself as the center of the universe. It has decided in its short sided and self centered wisdom that leaders like Nancy Pelosi are acceptable.

They are not.

When a leader of a branch of Government is caught in corruption and lies, that leader can no longer be trusted with anything, nothing they say is believable any longer. It’s time that Americans start recalling corrupt leaders again, forcing them to account for their irresponsibility’s and for their lies. Because if we don’t no one will; they wield too much power with too little accountability. That is our fault as citizens. We are not holding our elected officials responsible.

Nancy has some explaining to do, and if she does not own up to both her lies and her hypocrisy, she should be summarily removed from the leadership of the House if not sanctioned and removed from that august body. Her lies have done too much damage to this Nation's Security and our image abroad. It’s time to hold this type of irresponsibility up as completely unacceptable. That is American. That is our civil right, if not our civil duty.
