Each year the week leading to Father's Day is Men's Health Week, promoting fitness and wellness for the brothers, dads, husbands and other special men in our lives.

For men, the word "diet" carries with it a somewhat negative connotation, with a female tone. Dieting has long been thought to be one of those things that women do, like shopping and pedicures. However, the tide is continues to change as more and more men are embracing healthier lifestyles and actively working to lose weight.

Here are four popular diets for men that were built with guys in mind - meaning anonymity, convenience and plenty of food.

Weight Watchers Online for Men

“Real Men Don’t Diet,” is the motto from Weight Watchers for Men. Following after the 45-year-old plan that women have used with great success, Weight Watchers Online for Men is suited to fit a man’s lifestyle. Your football buddies won't know you're counting Points at the football game, and you won't have to ask a waitress for calories at a business dinner; you’ll just eat and live in a more mindful way. With tools, resources and recipes managed online, you'll maintain anonymity.

NutriSystem for Men

These famous guy’s-guys have used NutriSystem for Men with much success. Dan Marino, Larry the Cable Guy, Mike Golic, and Don Shula have followed the weight loss program and proudly boast positive weight loss. This was built for men, and the customized program delivers meals directly to your home. Just supplement the meals with fresh fruits and vegetables, and follow a regular fitness regimen.

Men’s Health Personal Trainer

The professionals at Men’s Health Magazine designed this weight loss program exclusively for men. The entire program is accessible online, and you’ll follow a completely customized meal and fitness plan to help you learn to eat more nutritiously and get in shape. You'll also have the option to communicate with a trainer.

Abs Diet

If you're striving for six-pack abs, then this program, created by Men’s Health, is for you. This was created to help men achieve that washboard stomach through diet and fitness. You’ll learn that it’s not all about sit-ups, as the Abs Diet introduces you to a balanced eating style that won’t leave you feeling hungry. The workout program has you doing weight training and cardio so that you’re burning fat while building muscle.
