More than one country in the region have been involved during and after the protests by Amazonian natives that clashes with the National Police of Peru last June 5th that left more than 30 deaths in officers and indigenous, who oppose government decrees that encouraged the exploitation of the Amazon jungle on oil and gas, among other natural resources.

The Peruvian’s Alan García blames his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales to have incited the natives with ideas that they will be evict of their land in favor of transnational companies, so the Indians led by Alberto Pizango, took an important penetration road to the Amazon jungle for more than 50 days, until the government decided to strike hard and the police ordered the eviction of the natives, resulting in clashes with human losses on both sides.
The Peruvian justice ordered the arrest of the indigenous leader Alberto Pizango after held intellectual responsible for disorders, but he got political asylum in the Embassy of Nicaragua, after having been rejected by Bolivia (in order not to aggravate the bilateral relationships), United States and France.
The blood facts caused a government crisis in Peru, including the resignation of two ministers of state who did not agree with how the government faced the problem, while the opposition in Congress called for the resignation of Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior (in charge of the Police) and got the suspension of the decrees of governmental operation in the Amazon which are reject by the natives, until reach a peaceful solution.
While the Peruvian’s president Alan Garcia says there have been external influences behind these movements (some political analyst blame Venezuela and Bolivia), and defend the fact they used the authority to restore the road and plans to continue operating according to the Free Trade signed with the United States last year in order the successful development of the peoples of the Amazon and the rest of the country.
