Sharon Stone: skinny and shameful

You may recall that at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, Sharon Stone said that the then recent devastating earthquake in China might have been bad karma for the nation’s treatment of Tibet and the Dalai Lama. It was a disgusting remark and Sharon has been trying to back away from those remarks ever since.

Because of this, it’s easy to be skeptical of Sharon’s tribute to Natasha Richardson last night at Amfar’s Cinema Against Aids event at Cannes yesterday. While a tribute to Natasha Richardson is a great thing, it seems as if Sharon Stone was trying to play a PR game to make everybody think she is “good” again. It is easy to sense that Sharon Stone is trying to act again – since she’s failed so miserably in movies lately – while giving the speech. Perhaps the late Natasha Richardson, a lovely woman with a sense of humor, would forgive her.
