Washington State Referendum 71 vote (Green = Approval / Yellow = Reject) By County.
Washington State Gov.

Washington State Referendum 71 results are already being reported. Referendum 71 results thus far show that the residents of Washington State are in support of the Referendum to support the rights of domestic partnerships. Currently the Washington State Referendum 71 results show a vote of 51.13% in support of the measure, and 48.87% against the Referendum passing through the Washington State General Election.

The reading of Referendum 71 was that “This bill would expand the rights, responsibilities, and obligations accorded state-registered same-sex and senior domestic partners to be equivalent to those of married spouses, except that a domestic partnership is not a marriage.” The Referendum 71 results show that quite a few people on the east side of Washington State were against the Referendum, and that a majority of the supporting votes came from King and Snohomish County.

As seen on the attached map, the Referendum 71 results were decidedly one-sided in King County, with 65.91% supporting the Referendum so far, and 34.09% voting to reject it. Over in Spokane County the numbers were almost the exact opposite, with 39.74% voting to approve Referendum 71 and 60.26% voting to reject the Referendum.

In total 1,010,632 ballots have been counted in Washington State, with an estimated 339,655 to go before the count is complete. There are currently 3,583,278 registered voters in the state, placing the final turn-out around 1/3 of the state’s population. The Washington State voters look to have voted down Initiative Measure 1033, which is down by 105,000 votes as of Tuesday night.

The votes will continue to be counted through the week, so this is by no means an official votes just yet, and it could be a day or two before the final vote on Referendum 71 is confirmed.
