In a heartbreaking turn of events, the body of Somer Tompson was found in a Georgia landfill yesterday. What began as a community search effort to find the 7-year-old who disappeared while walking home from school quickly became a homicide investigation. The toll this crime has taken upon the Orange Park, Florida community and Somer’s family is clear to see. Tonight, Somer Thompson’s mother made a direct statement towards the perpetrator of this heinous crime.
“Watch out, we’re coming, we’re gonna get you.” See the video below."
The police report details the events that transpired when Somer was first reported missing. Police are investigating an abandoned home that was approximately 500 yards away from the school. Investigators believe that they have an excellent chance at retrieving evidence and identifying Somer’s killer quickly and bringing the culprit (or culprits) to justice. Our hearts and prayers are extended to Somer Thompson’s family and we pray for swift justice.
