Code Mobile is an Amber alert application that provides wireless amber alerts and other missing children alerts to your telephone in real time. The service is free and is available for those who utilize iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android smart phones. The free application helps locate missing children, quickly and efficiently.
The most important element to recovering missing children is time. When a child goes missing time is critical and every second counts. Getting the word out to as many people as possible, and in as short a time as possible is vital to recovery. Wireless Amber Alerts are a new way that law enforcement officials can maximize the tools they have available and notify people nationwide, instantaneously that a child is missing.
When law enforcement officials determine that a child is missing and meets the requirements of an Amber Alert (these requirements or criteria vary from state to state), an emergency alert is issued. Amber Alerts are broadcast through various mediums, such as radio, Internet, television, and highway signs. They interrupt normal programming with urgent information. Wireless Amber Alerts are voluntary services provided by those in the wireless industry and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as well as the Unite States Department of Justice. Due to this arrangement, Wireless Amber Alerts are always free, and those who download the applications will never be charged.
