With the election of Barack Hussein Obama, America can finally be said to have thrown off the evil legacy of slavery -- the nation's so-called "original sin."

The bad news is: America has embraced a new form of slavery.

Not only doesn't it know this, it just doesn't seem to care.

America has embraced Peggy Joseph and rejected Joe the Plumber:

America has voted for a nanny state to protect each individual from cradle to grave, and rejected the noble, daring vision of the Founding Fathers, and the millions of men who died over the course of two centuries, to try to ensure that liberty would endure.

Freedom turned out to be, well, just too damned hard.

Congratulations, America: you have finally arrived at the socialist plantation at the end of the Road to Serfdom.

And half of you are delighted to be there.
