Don't turn around, Jeremy, a tiger is about to eat you

The boys from Austin, Texas who tour ad infinitum are at it again, this time driving straight through Denver and hitting Boise, Idaho, for a quick show before making it to Seattle and a quick West Coast tour, including Los Angeles, before heading home (see schedule below).

The modern indie band with a 1970s power pop vibe and who is known for covering Billy Joel, has a chef who doubles as a drummer and has been known to sing on a bus (not to mention a great sophomore album, What Doesn't Kill Us) also just released last night their SugarHill Sessions digital EP. For free.

The five songs available are all acoustic with a great use of piano (rather than Drew Patrizi's keyboard) and done in one take: 'Sweet Lady,' 'The Other Side,' 'Self-Destruct,' 'To Each His Own' (a rousing favorite), and 'Cheap Wine' (a forgettable version until they rock out at 1:20 into the song, showing of that Jeremy Bruch is just as much the glue in this band by whacking the kettles as lead singer/songwriter Michael Kingcaid).

It's now available via eMusic and barsuk.com as a free download until November 17th.

November Touring:
10  Seattle, WA  Chop Suey
11  Portland, OR  Doug Fir Lounge
13  San Francisco, CA Popscene

15 Costa Mesa, CA Detroit Bar

Bonus: The bus video I shot earlier this year of WMMF:
