President Ahmadinejad declared victory on Iran’s nuclear issues. He said that world leaders no longer talk of suspending Iran’s enrichment program. They now treat Iran as a member of the nuclear club, he said, as an equal. Only Israel still talks of raiding Iran, and some Europeans grumble (www.imra.org.il, 11/12).
He’s probably right. I think that the U.S. presidents let us down. The UN was just bluffing. What will stop other scofflaws from following Iran’s example?
