Looking for a pillow buddy? Look no further. I’m a huge fan of decorating with pillows and the notion of fluffing a vignette by simply changing out these little squares of pattern and color.

A great resource for pillows is the Lotus Bleu home boutique in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco (327 Hayes St.), run by designer Jeannie Fraise who is an art historian with a great eye for textiles. The good news is you can almost always find a great deal there on beautifully made items – especially now with a spring sale that reduces prices on some of her treasures as much as 80%.

Among the best in the pack - the silk Patch, Dot and Floral patterned pillows, which will perk up any room. The Patch pillows with Japanese-inspired motifs are $58 for a sizable 20x20, which is an ideal size for a pair to flank your sofa. Both the spotted and floral patterns would be at home in the bedroom as well as other living spaces that need a dot in the arm or exotic flower power.

And if by chance, you are in the market for a dramatic ceiling fixture, grab the silk embroidered lantern made of raw silk with a dragon and bird motif. Originally $880 it’s a steal at $176!

I like almost everything in this small, Parisian like boutique, especially how Fraise updates mid-century Scandinavian chairs and benches with uplifting, modern fabrics. The one-of-a-kind pieces sell very quickly. You can shop them on line after they are produced.
