While scoping out some more entertainment for the Swine flu humor series (beta) –and at the risk of overdosing this audience with H1N1 buzz, other topics forthcoming— the following YouTube video came to my atttention,"1976 Swine flu vaccine propaganda video."
Having long claimed that 70s thrillers were scarier than today's films due to the sound effects and scores –and, okay, the hair— this advertisement swine flu PSA video proves the point and then some.
Were I to have watched this swine flu vaccine video on TV some three decades ago, the production would have frightened me into getting the swine flu shot, pronto. But now...wiser and, a bit, older, I'm equally concerned about another pandemic...government propaganda. (Does anyone else see Marshal Law on the horizon?)
I wasn't too thrilled about a novel swine flu vaccine anyway, and this 1976 swine flu video makes a needlestick less attractive, unless of course we have a 1918-esque plague on our hands…so it sounds.
What do you think?
