John Mayer releases new single, "Who Says."

John Mayer, the singer/songwriter/guitarist famous for such hits as "Daughters," "Waiting On The World To Change," and "Say," as well as the guitar solo on Fall Out Boy's cover of the Michael Jackson song, "Beat It," has released a preview of the first single from his upcoming album, Battle Studies. The song, "Who Says," is musically akin to James Taylor, and culturally aligned with the Grateful Dead.

The song opens with the question, "Who says I can't get stoned?" The melody and song structure are simple, yet incredibly catchy, even on the first listen.

Battle Studies has an expected release date of November 17, 2009. Anticipation is growing for this release, on the back of the enormous success of Mayer's last studio album, Continuum. Take a listen to "Who Says" and judge for yourself.
