Stephenie Meyer, the author of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' did her first and only interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired today. She detailed a 'New Moon' revelation, and discussed Robert Pattinson and much more.
Oprah tells Meyer, that she first disovered the 'Twilight' series of books by seeing it repeatedly on the best seller's list, and having one of the girls at her school in Africa tell her to read the books because they are 'delicious' reading.
Oprah asks Meyer what Robert Pattinson is like, since he has the world in a frenzy - especially the women. Meyers says, "Rob smells great! Rob is hilarious, he is the funniest person. He is really fun to hang out with. He is not at all like the Edward character. It is interesting to see him shift back and forth because he is so different as Rob." She adds, "His eyes, his facial structure, he just doesn't look like everybody else - in a very good way."
Oprah then asks Meyer, 'I understand that you have a 'New Moon' secret that you have never revealed before. Meyer replies, "I am pretty open about my writing. But there was a different ending to 'New Moon' originally. It was a much quieter book, it was pretty much all in Bella's head. My mother told me that the book needed a little more action - and she was right, as usual. I introduced the Volturi a little earlier than planned. That whole scene at the end is kind of my favorite part now - and it is there because my mom told me it would be better that way."
