The vestigial organ that once was journalistic integrity has become inflamed and swollen. We might as well cut it out and toss it in the biohazard waste bin, its not doing them any good anyway. Apparently, McCain and Palin have been caught red handed leading cross-burning, swastika fronting rallies from coast to coast while America slept. Or, in a more accurate but less big media version of last weeks events, somebody in the crowd said something stupid at a political rally. Oh horror, that must be a first because the media is indignant to a degree I never thought I would see in my lifetime.
I remember how it started for me. I turned on Keith Olbermann's show Countdown on accident and he was hyperventilating as if a presidential assassination had just occurred. I frankly was a bit scared at what horror he was reporting because of the shrill panic in his voice. He claimed that some unidentified person in the crowd at a McCain rally had called Obama a terrorist. In another segment, Olbermann told us what vile thing was said by someone in the audience of a Palin rally without even providing a sound bite! Seriously. Then he went on about how they were inciting racist Republicans to violence.
What I had witnessed may have been the most calumnious strike against a presidential candidate in history, or so I thought. But, I was wrong. It was just the beginning. Within hours every liberal media outlet in the nation was parroting Olbermann. From The New York Times to CNN, the media was drowning in a Kafkaesque orgy of 'McCain is a racist'. I mean, come on, you're in the tank for Obama, we get it, you don't have to insult our intelligence by linking words to the candidate that came from unknown persons in a crowd.
As the media tells it, this is fair turnabout because McCain has linked Obama to terrorists. The media claims that pointing out Obama's friendship with two terrorists is inflammatory, racial hate speech. Well let me tell the big media where they can stick it. If anybody is making the connection between Obama and a terrorist couple a racially tinged issue it is the media. Why? Because those terrorists, Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn are white. So where does the racial component come in?
If the word “terrorist” is racially inflammatory as the media has decided, then the media has equated minority status with terrorism. As a person of mixed native American heritage I find the media's attempt to label minorities as terrorists to be highly offensive. Terrorism has nothing to do with color you morons.
But beyond that, this entire concept that McCain is trying to associate Obama with terrorists is flawed. Obama associated himself with terrorists. It's in the public record. They were terrorists. Obama decided to associate with them to help launch his career. Obama needed big time executive experience to launch his political career and Ayers gave him that by placing him as a committee leader for a wealthy foundation. Then Ayers launched him as a political entity from his own living room.
McCain did not associate Obama with Ayers, Obama did.
Now some question why that matters. They just don't get why an association with a man who bombed his own country is a negative for a campaign. I will try to explain.
I think that if I ever met Bill Ayers face to face my first instinct would be to punch him in the face for what he did. I would certainly not spend one moment listing to a thing he has to say. Actually working with the man for my own profit is inconceivable. To me, that would be placing myself over my country. My own needs over the needs of my fellow citizens to feel safe and secure.
And that as a simple matter of justice people like Ayers and his wife will find justice if not here then in the after life. I could forgive the act if Ayers and his wife asked for redemption. But they want redemption less than they want to hate this country. And there are tens of millions of Americans who agree with my feelings about those terrorists.
That's why Ayers matters to me.
No, paling around with terrorists does not make Obama a terrorists and only an idiot would say so. But it does make him a sleazy opportunist who cares more about his own career than this country.
By the way, what do Senator Obama and Usama bin Laden have in common? They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon. That's right, I said it because it is true!
So the media has sold its soul to put Obama in the White House. These journalists have dragged a good man, a national hero into the mud in order to deflect for a guy who was trying to blow up what McCain was trying to defend. While McCain was being tortured for this country Ayers and his wife were trying to burn it.
Not common thugs, they exhibit a very uncommon hatred of this nation and all it stands for. The very ideas that make this nation great have been subverted by a media willing to throw them all away to get what it wants. It is the media that has become radicalized by an agenda that finds McCain's selfless sacrifice and love of country more foreign than the socialist principle of wealth redistribution espoused by Obama and his terrorist friends.
