Vice-President Joe Biden, in a rare moment of honesty, actually admitted that he and others in the Obama administration had ‘misread’ the condition of the economy. That was his explanation for why the so-called stimulus had not produced any of the promised results, like keeping the unemployment rate from going above 8% (it is currently at 9.5%).  Sarah Palin

Of course even Biden’s explanation seems more disingenuous than it does honest given that leading up to the election and since that time we have heard the constant drumbeat from President Obama that the state of the economy was the worst since the Great Depression. So are they soon going to suggest that it is now worse than the Great Depression???

The numbers alone showed that the state of the economy was on par with the same state during the recession of the early 1980s, shortly after Ronald Reagan took office. Therefore, it is fairly safe to say that Obama and his minions, rather than underestimating the condition of the economy, instead actually exaggerated the weak condition of the economy in order to win the election and implement their anti-capitalistic and socialistic agenda.

Of course, we already knew what the results of an Obama administration would be. We knew because Sarah Palin, yes – that Sarah Palin, told us all of this last September in her speech at the Republican National Convention. For those of you who need a reminder, here is the segment of her speech in which she discusses Obama:

I've noticed a pattern with our opponent. Maybe you have, too.

We've all heard his dramatic speeches before devoted followers. And there is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet?

The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world.

America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it.

Victory in Iraq is finally in sight ... he wants to forfeit.

Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay ... he wants to meet them without preconditions.

Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights?

Government is too big ... he wants to grow it.

Congress spends too much ... he promises more.

Taxes are too high ... he wants to raise them.

In breaking down Palin’s comments one at time, it basically lays out the Obama administration’s platform since taking office in January:

…and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world.

Obama has already tried to shut down some of our missile defense programs at a time when North Korea is threatening to hit the U.S. with missiles. And now this week, while North Korea and perhaps Iran are actively seeking to build their own nuclear weapons, Obama is making pacts with Russia to disarm ours.

America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it.

If passed, Obama’s cap-and-trade plan would not only fail to produce more energy but would instead put some energy producers, mainly coal companies, out of business. Of course, Obama stated as much in an interview last year in which he also noted his plan would dramatically increase utility rates for all Americans.

Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay ... he wants to meet them without preconditions.

Obama still states that he is open to meeting with the Iranian and North Korean leaders despite the slaughters of innocent Iranians by its regime and the continued launching of missile tests by the North Koreans. What would they have to do in order to make him not want to meet with them???

Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights?

It has now been widely reported that Obama himself has ordered that captured suspected terrorists be read Miranda Rights. Of course, during the campaign Obama stated he was not in favor of such a practice.

Government is too big ... he wants to grow it.

Under Obama, the federal government now owns two major automakers and numerous banks. And then of course there are all the new ‘czars’ in the Obama government – the last count seems to be about 16 of them. Appointing these unelected and unlegislated czars is certainly one way to expand the size and scope of government while bypassing the electorate and the Congress. Perhaps the czars and their staffs are where Obama comes up with his ‘150,000 created or saved jobs’ figure???

Congress spends too much ... he promises more.

This one is pretty self-explanatory given the so-called stimulus package, the largest increase in the federal budget in our nation’s history and the exponential growth of bailouts which Obama has implemented.

Taxes are too high ... he wants to raise them.

Oh sure, Obama has so far supposedly given tax breaks to ‘95% of all working families’ out there, but that was just a tease. At some point he is going to propose a tax increase to pay for all of his spending increases. Plus, there are the non-tax taxes like the higher utility rates, higher gas prices and higher healthcare costs that will result if his cap-and-trade and healthcare reform packages actually get passed.

Now I am not suggesting that Sarah Palin was some sort of modern-day Nostradamus in laying out almost verbatim what has turned out to be the Obama presidency. Far from it. The reality is that we should have all known what was going to happen because Obama basically told us this in the campaign. His solution to every problem was always one that involved a bigger, more active and more intrusive government, and his foreign policy proposals were all designed to weaken America and embolden our enemies.

So in a way, we all had the ability to be modern-day Nostradamuses (or is it Nostradami???) had we just paid attention to what Palin told us. However, for some reason 53% of the electorate decided instead to be Nostradumbasses who listened only to the ridiculous rhetoric which Obama spouted. Now we are stuck with a future that Nostradamus himself never predicted and one that he certainly would have never wanted.
