Smashing Pumpkin
Smashing Pumpkin featuring Sobieski Vanilia

Nothing says Thanksgiving like turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and pumpkin pie. Start a new tradition among all of the adults in the family this year. Instead of eating a piece of pumpkin pie, drink it in a martini glass. A Smashing Pumpkin consists of Sobieski’s new vanilla flavored vodka, Vanilia along with pumpkin puree, spices, lemon juice and half and half, served up in a martini glass with a sugar/cinnamon rim. The cocktail is easy to make, guaranteed to make the holidays smashing and is a whole lot faster than baking an actual pumpkin pie.

Smashing Pumpkin

2 oz Sobieski Vanilia vodka
1 oz pumpkin puree
1 ½ oz half and half
½ oz fresh lemon juice (half of a lemon, squeezed)

Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a sugar/cinnamon rim and a cinnamon stick.

Pumpkin Puree
1 can of canned pumpkin
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves

Mix all of the ingredients together. Keep refrigerated.

In the United States, vodka outsells all spirits 3 to 1. Due to vodka’s popularity, there is never a shortage of brands to choose from. Sobieski vodka is one of the newest additions to the U.S. vodka market. This authentic Polish vodka is made from Dankowski rye, which can only be found in Poland’s Mazowse fields and gives the vodka a distinctive character. Since its introduction in 2007, Sobieski has set out to debunk the myth that the more expensive a vodka is, the better quality it will be. Sobieski’s “Truth in Vodka” ad campaign focuses on educating consumers about the importance of what goes “inside” the bottle instead of the outside packaging.

Sobieski recently introduced two flavored vodkas to their portfolio: Sobieski Cytron and Sobieski Vanilia. Sobieski Vanilia is made with Dankowski rye and natural vanilla flavor. The nose on Sobieski Vanilia is mellow brown sugar and hazelnut with a rich, buttery texture. The taste has a sweet beginning and a subtle caramel finish. Sobieski Vanilia can be enjoyed on its own or easily mixed in any cocktail calling for a vanilla flavored vodka. This is why using Sobieski Vanilia is a great choice for making a Smashing Pumpkin cocktail.
