Arthritis can be a debilitating condition. Photo.

Limiting, deforming, bothersome, and often painful arthritis can be more than a nuisance. Arthritis screams out in cold, wet, and threatening weather, and luckily sometimes, it can be quieted with pain killers, such as celebrex and motrin.

But, for those who are determined to improve or even remove their arthritis pain, read on...

Arthritis is not a genetic disorder, and it is not an unaviodable product of old age, but it is related to diet.

Dr. John A. McDougall has these words to say about arthritis:

Osteoarthritis is the most common arthritis found in people living in Western
civilizations--seen in x-rays of the hands of over 70% of people 65 years and older. However, this same disease is comparatively rare in African and Asian countries, where people physically labor to survive (Br J Rheumatol 24:321, 1985). How can that be? Osteoarthritis is said to be due to wear and tear on the joints, so why is it less common among hard working people of underdeveloped countries?

Both Dr. McDougall and I agree that artritis is brought on and made worse by the consumtion of animal foods. Meats (red meat, chicken, fish), eggs, and dairy cause inflammation in the joints -- and in the blood vesels, as well, causing poor endothelium (the inner lining of the blood vessels) function and forming potentially fatal clots.

Let this be the year you turn your life around!

Try it yourself. For two weeks, consume no meat, eggs, or dairy, and fill your menus with fruits and vegetables of all kinds, whole grains, and beans. You'll feel better, I'm sure of it. Along with less arthritic pain, you may notice more energy, your skin may look clearer, you may not experience that dull angina (chest pain), your blood sugar levels may begin to fall in range, the list goes on.  Let me know how you do.

What can you lose?
