Ruby's fightin' the good fight.

Ruby, the Style Network's highest-ever rated show, got the green light for a season 2 this week, reports Multichannel News.

The reality show, which documents Ruby Gettinger's journey from nearly 500 pounds to her goal of 150, is a favorite of Ted Harbert, president of the Comcast Entertainment Group, parent company of the Style Network.  "The woman makes me cry," he said at the Television Critics Association winter tour in Los Angeles.

I agree -- I love the show. Ruby's sweet Southern charm is infectious, as is her determination to get the weight off. Ever since the show's debut in November, it has attracted 400,000 total viewers a week -- more than twice Style’s primetime average.

I know Ruby's hacky-wacky over the news. That's her way of saying she's over the moon.

As are we, girlfriend!

And while you're waiting for Season 2, you can download the theme to her show on iTunes. It's called I Can by singer/songwriter Johanna Stahley.
