Tracey Yukich, season 8’s Biggest Loser villain, met her demise on the show Tuesday night, and whether you loved her or despised her, she certainly gave fans something to talk about.
Some of those fans sent some pretty nasty e-mails to The Jay Leno Show, and he read a few to her on Tuesday’s show. Those nastygrams must have gnawed at Tracey. Or did they?
Nasty comments: "When you’re on The Biggest Loser, everyone tells you ‘Don’t read the blogs when you get home,’ " Tracey said Wednesday afternoon by phone. But she reads those comments because she wants to see what people were saying about her role in the show. “So nothing surprised me of what he read last night.”
OK, maybe one e-mail got to her a bit. “I was a little surprised about the lady who said she wouldn’t even brake for me and run me over,” she said. “I thought that was a little extreme.”
She said she often writes back to people on the Internet. To one woman, she said she wrote: “Thank you for writing about me and I hope you stay a fan of the show. There are lots of people who are inspiring on the show. You should pick your favorite even though it’s not me. But I’ll pray for you and hope you have a wonderful day.”
Haters, step off: She’s cool with the haters because she says hey’re not getting the whole picture of who she is.
“Those people see only the Tracey that they see on television. They don’t get to see me every day with my friends or my husband or my children and who I am and where exactly I’m coming from. A lot of people are ticked at me because I played the game on the show. There’s always going to be the people who don’t like you and I’ve come to terms with that. “
Tracey said trainer Jillian Michaels was a big help with resolving those feelings, since not everybody likes Jillian either.
I also asked her whether she got a feeling during the taping of the show that she was going to emerge as the villain this season. She said she didn’t during the taping but thought about how her game-playing might turn out in the final cut.
Villain portrayal: “I’ve watched past shows of The Biggest Loser. Of course I’m a big fan -- I would sit on the couch eating ice cream watching it,” she joked. “And who didn’t see Vicky and how mad everyone was at her? I love Vicky; she is a great person. But what you see on TV is always a little bit skewed and maybe not everything that everyone sees.”
“I was a little worried when I got home because I did play the game. And I know what consequences do happen on the show when you do play the game. When I got home I told my husband that I played the game – we had talked about it and he said ‘I didn’t think you were going to play the game!’ I said it before I left. I said ‘I’m not playing the game. I’m doing a full Ali Vincent. I’m not playing the game on The Biggest Loser – I said that to myself. But who knew what was going to happen on the first day and how scared I was. I just wanted to have my chance.”
