Every New Year's Day, cable shopping channel QVC kicks off the year with a plethora of get-in-shape equipment.

God knows how many exercise machines I have bought over the years on a post-holiday guilt hangover. A few years back, our basement den looked like the island of misfit fitness toys until we gave 'em all away.

New this year is a weekly show, Get Fit With Rick, hosted by QVC's Rick Domeier. Obviously, it's all about selling stuff but this is the first time QVC has dedicated a weekly timeslot to a fitness program. As an adjunct to the show, Domeier also has a blog, Rick's Fitness Journey.

And QVC is jumping on the Biggest Loser bandwagon with a show to air right after the season premiere of Biggest Loser: Couples Tuesday at 10 p.m. Season 5 winner Ali Vincent will be on pitching the new Biggest Loser line of fitness and kitchen products.
