"How far would you go to have the prefect body?"
In Two Weeks Under author Rivka Tadjer eerily portrays the drastic lengths many will take to achieve a specific number on the scale or a certain size in our closets. And while most of us would probably think twice about agreeing to a vanity coma to lose weight, I can admit there were times when I would have done almost anything to see the pounds melt away. We are a society inundated with perfection. And in the majority’s eyes, perfection is stick thin. To quote Mrs. Tadjer “Size zero. Who decided that was a size?” (I’d say it’s a non-size.)
This book is full of thrill and chills to the very end. I was spellbound by the characters and their quirky, but realistic non-perfect personalities. The finale keeps you guessing right up to the epilogue. And Tadjer nails our human nature in such a way that it makes you really analyze yourself and your priorities. I’m telling you, this would make one blockbuster of a movie.
I do need to warn you that if books had ratings, this one would be a solid R. It does contain strong language, sexual references and violence.
