Forged Kenyan Obama birth certificate gives birthers the blues

Fringe conservative bloggers and writers proclaimed with certainty the other day that a Kenyan birth certificate surfaced that "proved" birthers right.

 

What it proved was that they were completely nuts since the certificate was a Republic of Kenya birth certificate dated from 1961 the year of Obama's birth, but was dated 3 years before Kenya's birth as a republic. Oh, well, nice try.

 

One blogger had written that it had already been certified as authentic  simply because The Big Bertha of the birther movement, a California lawyer named Orly Taitz, submitted it to a court for authentication. To them that meant it was authentic.

 

After it was exposed as a fake many of these bloggers tried discredit the discreditors. The arguments range from the laughable to the ludicrous.

 

 Unlike some, I don't believe their motive has anything to do with race. It's not about Obama. Its pure lunatic politics. Any Democrat, even Freddy Krueger would have beaten any Republican in a landslide after what Bush and the Republicans did to the country for 8 years, and the fact that the majority of the country all but kicked the Republicans out of the congress and made them the smallest minority in decades is proof enough that this isn't about Obama but the Democrats and politics. It isnt all that different from the attempts by  the lunatic right to discredit Bill Clinton which they tried for 8 years. Which is not to compare Obama to Clinton. He is no Clinton. But to right wing politicos it doesn't matter. It's about the Democrats being in power.

 

To listen to their arguments about Obama's birth is to find a wealth of material for any comedian or satirist. S some of them make the same charges of Obama embracing communist policies that were the stuff of political satire 40 years ago when right wingers found Communism the motivating force behind things like rock and roll. These are the same people who think healthcare reform or the public option is communism or socialism.

 

You would think that the first thing they'd have to do to have any credibility is prove that Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate is a forgery. I mean prove it, not come up with outlandish conspiracy theories. That birth certificate was presented a long time ago and confirmed as valid by people a lot smarter and with a lot more expertise than the lunatic fringe called "the birthers". Unless they think that even the Republicans and other government agencies were in on the fraud and either didn't authenticate his birth certificate or didn't care.

 

They also dont explain why Obama even had a forgery of a Hawaiian birth certificate in the first place when years before he ever got into politics he had to present a valid birth certificate to get a passport. So why run the risk of forging one to get a passport under fraudulent circumstances years before he ever went into politics? That would be a felony and would have destroyed any chance for a law career which is what Obama was pursing at Harvard. Let them explain that one.

 

One other thing they can do is produce other birth certificates from Kenya for births in 1961 that are identical in  every way to the so called Obama Kenyan birth certificate. Everyone can assume that Obama was not the only human being born in Kenya in 1961. There literally should be thousands of Kenyan birth certificates with thousands of names from 1961 and they should be pretty easy to get.

So let them start producing them by the hundreds, certificates exactly like the one they say is Obama's, same Registrar, same signature, same everything and then once those are validated and the names validated,  they can say they "debunked" the proof that the birth certifcate is a fake. Until and unless they do, they are what everyone things they are - cranks, lunatics, and political zealots.

 

One of their latest lunatic ideas being floated is that Hillary Clinton is really in Kenya to try and supress Obama's "real"  Kenyan birth certificate. Like,  if that's what they were up to they'd  send the Secretary of State with a full staff and entourage of reporters on a secret mission to try and supress it.  This kind of thinking is the result of people so blinded by their own rabid politcal zealotry that common sense goes out the window. Assuming they ever had any in the first place.

 

When Bill O'Reilly and Karl Rove disavow this stuff and Ann Coulter calls these conservatives "cranks" its really time for the birthers  to give it up and if they have to, take something for their post partum birth certificate depression. Or maybe do what Obama did when he realized he made a mistake --  go have a beer.
