Arsenal, whose season was already crumbling away thanks to its chronic inconsistency, looks like it will take another blow now with reports surfacing that captain William Gallas was dropped from this weekend's game and could lose his captaincy.

Gallas has made headlines with his harsh verbal criticisms of teammates that he declined to name, but who the linked Guardian article points out as Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri. This also came along after the release of Gallas' book, which details an earlier incident he had with Nasri.

It has to be a touchy issue for Arsene Wenger. On the one hand, it's hard to justify your captain causing a controversy by calling out teammates in public rather than handling the issues in the locker room. On the other, this Arsenal team continues to fold at the oddest moments and is watching its season slip away even though the year is still young. Gallas may not be in the right concerning how he addressd these problems, but that doesn't mean the claims aren't legitimate.

The Guardian article says Wenger will address the issues after tomorrow's game against Manchester City.

What do you think will happen? Will Gallas keep his captaincy? Will this lead to the end of his time with Arsenal?
