Nationals Park - new DC baseball stadium built with 95% recycled steel.

The amount of waste generated at one MLB baseball game is staggering and it'll take alot to thoroughly green that institution.  Some teams have made a start.

From no-flush urinals to energy-efficient vending machines to programs printed with soy-based ink - to teams like the Giants, Rockies and Indians installing solar panels to help power their facilities - these nontraditional environmental allies are catching on.

In 2008, the Pittsburgh Pirates recycled 5,914 pounds of aluminum cans, 33,547 pounds of plastic and more while the Washington Nationals opened a stadium built with 95 percent recycled steel and lit with high-efficiency bulbs.

I'll do my part this August while I watch my Chicago Cubs play the Colorado Rockies (in Denver, where I live) by reusing my beer cup...again and again.  Play ball!
