In the midst of searching for some information for an article, I came across the Better Business Bureau web site. Expecting to find only a web site with places to look up the complaint record on auto mechanics or plumbers, I found a plethora of great tips for consumers.

At theBetter Business Bureau you can go to the "research library" section of the web site and get excellent advice on raising your credit score, managing debt, avoiding predatory mortgage lenders, choosing to rent or buy and buyng your first home.

It shouldn't have surprised me, really, since the Better Business Bureau exists to protect consumers when they have been a victim of poor service or outright fraud. Prevention really is the best medicine, so the more consumers know about their finances and housing options, the better off they are.
