On Thursday, Eddie Jordan was interviewed about the competitive nature of scrimmage play and the importance of continuity. Jordan said the Washington Wizards' offense and defense were ahead of last year thus far, with particular interest in the offensive play, which he felt lagged last season. On Friday, Jordan closed training camp by talking about the staff, the upcoming scrimmage, and where he felt the Wizards were going once the preseason began on Tuesday. Again, Jordan talked about more emphasis on offense in this training camp over last year's training camp, and discussed how hard it would be to cut players from the Wizards 17-man roster.
The Washington Wizards have displayed their team work (see #5) last season, and held their own against some the best in the East. The question might become match-ups. Friday's scrimmage, at just over a half-hour long, featured two teams complete with starters and reserves:
Team 1
Starters: Antonio Daniels, Nick Young, Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, Etan Thomas
Reserves: Linton Johnson, Juan Dixon, JaVale McGee
Team 2
Starters: Dee Brown, DeShawn Stevenson, Dominic McGuire, Darius Songaila, Andray Blatche
Reserves: Taj McCullough, Oleksiy Pecherov, DerMarr Johnson
Interesting to note Juan Dixon didn't make a starter squad. I'll have more on the match-ups as we approach the Dallas Mavericks this Tuesday.![]()
