The Columbine murders---the result of single parenting?

Where does the urge come from?
There is a
statistical message which states that children coming from a single-parent home are more likely to look for attention from somewhere else, if their parents are not available. While this may be, there are plenty of positive influences for children to be directed, or redirected to, if their parent pays attention to where interest is focused.
Being a single parent can make keeping up with the children difficult, especially when working more than one job, or attending school while working. The perfect example of this is
Leonardo DiCaprio. His father left when he was twelve months and his mother raised him. She certainly worked hard to do so, but considering all of the byways stars must maneuver through, she’s done a bang up job. Let’s face it, Leo isn’t in the tabloids nearly as much as Lindsay Lohan or Macaulay Culkin, both who have served time in jail and are from upbringings of two parents.
You may be asking yourself where violence is bred, and it isn’t the
instructor and classroom it’s taught in, but rather the materials introduced. In other words, it isn’t whether one or two parents are in the home, but how much attention is distributed to the child and how often a blind eye is turned because a situation is presumed “innocent childhood behavior.”

Suicide may seem like the only escape
The two boys from the
Columbine Massacre, who stole the breath away from millions across the country as they literally put a scar across the American Flag, are from backgrounds with two parents. Eric David Harris was the son of a prominent Air Force pilot, who moved continuously until retiring in 1993. Eric was considered to be “a very bright individual who is likely to succeed in life.”
Dylan Bennet Klebold was a part of the Challenging High Intellectual Potential Students before he committed himself to being a part of the “Trenchcoat Mafia,” a title deemed by one of his classmates.
Both boys, despite the tales of good family life before this, had a history of violence. In fact, investigators found two large bombs in the cafeteria which were attached to propane tanks. If these had detonated properly the death count of children would have been in the hundreds. Things would never be the same at Littleton's Columbine High,
Home of the Rebels, where a total of
36 people were hit with bullets, some fatally.
Over the next two years, Guerra's original draft and investigative file documents were lost.
As a last resort, you can
go here. Otherwise single parents, keep up the good work!
