Publisher Trion and developer Petroglyph team to make upcoming MMORTS

Trion Studios is now working with Petroglyph to create the next high-end MMORTS according to this press release.

According to Trion's official site the company utilizes, "advanced server architecture, designed to enable massive scalability, dynamic content evolution, and facilitate cross platform development."  By teaming with Petroglyph, the developer of games like Star Wars: Empire at War and Universe at War, Trion is gaining many experienced veterans in the gaming industry.  You can see a list of games the people of Petroglyph have worked on over the years here.

With two studios working on two different MMO titles, Trion is definitely a company to watch.  Both MMOs are under working titles called Channel 1 and Channel 2.  Channel 1 is an MMORPG and Channel 2 is the Petroglyph MMORTS title.

Petroglyph is currently working with True Games on the upcoming MMO named Mytheon, a micro-transaction based MMO in the world of Greek gods and Egyptian deities.

Both Trion and Petroglyph have the experience in their teams to make a great MMORTS.  Look for more news on the Channel 2 working title here.
