We're getting close to celebration day and whether you're a resident or vacationing in the Tampa Bay area, don't let the day pass you without seeing the spectacular fireworks display on Saturday. This annual event takes place near downtown at Channelside Bay Plaza where a rainbow of colors will light up the sky once the festivities begin at 6 pm. Come down early to get a good parking spot in the garage then have some fun and snacks at Splitsville, Banana Joe's or the Creamery before the fireworks begin.

For those new to the area, Channelside is easy to find. The plaza is located at 615 Channelside Drive between the St. Pete Times Forum and the Florida Aquarium not far from the heart of downtown.

The fireworks display is being set up out in the bay and folks at Channelside, along Bayshore and on Harbour Island will have a front row view. Folks celebrating aboard the American Victory Mariner Ship will have an excellent view, too, so whether you make plans to be a landlubber and watch while having dinner and beverages at one of the Channelside restaurants like Bennigan's and Hooter's, watch from the deck of the Victory Mariner or you scout out your own perfect viewing spot place along the walkway on Bayshore, make your plans to celebrate Independence Day in Tampa Bay.

It's a free event, so come on down!
