Former "Soap Opera Weekly magazine reporter Lesleyann Coker and her entrepreneur husband Mark Coker have just released their new novel "Boob Tube" on 'Smashwords.com.'  The novel is a behind the scenes look at the soaps industry based upon interviews with industry insiders that have been fictionalized.

Coker, who recently spoke to a reporter at 'The Mercury News" described the book this way:

It's a novel about the soap opera industry.  My wife Lesleyann is a former reporter for Soap Opera Weekly magazine and we gathered up real world stories about the soap opera industry and then we fictionalized it into a novel."

After shopping their book with agents for two years with no takers, Coker founded "Smashwords" which he describes as a "You Tube" equivalent for authors.  Authors who choose to publish with "Smashbooks" retain the copyright and set the price for their own books.  It's a concept that seems to be catching on for those authors who find the traditional publishing route daunting.

"Boob Tube" can be downloaded at Smashwords for $4.95 in a variety of formats.  If you've got a book you'd like to shop, and want to read the entire article with Mark Coker, see "The Mercury News."
