Bob Guiney with Eiden Riegel on the "Cooking to Get Lucky" Set

Actress Eden Riegel took time out from her busy schedule yesterday to chat about her new web-based series "Cooking to Get Lucky" which airs on mDialog.  Cooking to Get Lucky offers a unique blend of professional cooking tips intertwined with lots of user generated content.  Best known for her role as Bianca, Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) daughter on ABC's All My Children, the Emmy award winning actress stars in this cooking series with Bob Guiney fondly remembered as the hot single guy looking for love on the fourth season of the hit reality television show The Bachelor.

Riegel who exudes enthusiasm and boundless energy says "Cooking to Get Lucky" is going great.  To date 5 wepisodes have been released and are available to view now with additional webisodes to follow.  "The show is going great," says Riegel,  "The response has been terrific and we're certainly having a great time putting it all together."

How did it all get started??

"It all got started because of the way my husband (Andrew Miller) won me over. Cooking Lucky is a show for guys—or girls—or really for anyone who is all thumbs in the kitchen and needs some help cooking meals that are so incredibly impressive they make it look like you’ve been slaving in the kitchen all day when in reality, they are so effortless to put together that even a moron can do it.  I met my husband through a mutual friend.  He invited me over for dinner and cooked this meal that knocked my socks off—and maybe knocked off a few other pieces of clothing off as well.  Later, I learned he had a whole arsenal of recipes that were very simple to prepare and he wasn’t a culinary genius after all. But it worked—it really worked on me and I love to cook myself, so we sort of combined his proven recipes with others that I came up with-- we made sure they were all super impressive, easy to prepare, inexpensive and really quick using the materials even a bachelor would have in his apartment."

Once the recipes were compiled, Riegel and Miller teamed up with Bob Guiney who happens to be married to Rebecca Budig who plays Greenlee Smythe on All My Children.  “Bob is incredibly funny and he represents every guy out there who doesn’t know what he’s doing in the kitchen,"  Riegel says. "From there, we created a show that makes you laugh while teaching you some really interesting stuff."

Riegel has a passion for the Internet and she believes it's the future of entertainment.  "I personally love the Internet, she said.  "It’s a great way to get in touch with the young, hip viewers who are our target audience and at the same time we’ve got the interactive feature where people can actually tell us their circumstances like what kind of girl they are trying to impress and we can come up with a menu and some quick tips that will wow whomever they are trying to dazzle.  We take it on a case-by- case basis and fans of the show can actually be involved and ask for suggestions from us."  Part of what makes this show is viewers appealing for help to impress their dream date.

Aside from ‘Cooking to Get Lucky,” Riegel is also making her comeback on All My Children reprising her role as Bianca. She’s already started taping and she says she came back at a very dramatic time in Pine Valley. “This is very different than my Internet enterprises,” Says Riegel laughing. Riegel’s first air date on All My Children is October 17th and it’s safe to say her fan base is anxiously waiting for her arrival as well as the arrival of her new love interest played by Tamara Braun (ex-Carly from General Hospital).

Despite all Riegel has going on, somehow it’s wasn't surprising that she wasn't quite finished chatting about her all her projects.  She wanted to talk about one last venture she has been involved in.  Many of you are already familiar with Riegel’s other Internet show “Imaginary Bitches.” The smash hit features webisodes that center around the life of a single girl (Riegel’s character) whose friends are all involved in pretty serious relationships. To fight off her lonely existence, she created some imaginary friends to hang out with. These imaginary friends however turned out to be complete bitches and the comedy has evolved from there. The web series first aired on May 2nd, 2008 and has been viewed over 4 million times on the Internet and has sparked the attention of several media critics who have consistently given the show rave reviews.

Riegel is excited about the release of the first complete season of Imaginary Bitches on November 3rd in glorious high definition with tons of extra features. “Fans will have that to look forward to and hopefully we will be releasing details of the second season very soon."

When asked if she ever stops, Riegel laughs and says, "No, I hope I never stop. I have to keep moving now because if I ever want to have babies, I won’t have the time I have now.” That may or may not be the case for Riegel and her husband who is the creator of Cooking to Get Lucky and the writer/producer/director of Imaginary Bitches. it’s my guess if babies are in their future, this incredibly creative couple will simply take their comic genius in a new direction to fit the occasion.

You can check out Cooking to Get Lucky hereImaginary Bitches here and you can welcome Riegel's character Bianca back to Pine Valley on October 17th on All My Children.

"Cooking to Get Lucky" is currently seeking video submissions for the show.  Those in need of some help in the kitchen can upload their video and have Bob and Eden create a recipe especially for them.  For information on how to submit your video click the mDialog Video Link here.
