GH: Olivia Falconari doesn't seem too anxious to go back to Bensonhurst

     I am finding myself gravitating towards this character and it's not because I have an aversion for root canals or anything.  Olivia Falconari initially came to Port Charles at Sonny's request to be there for her cousin Connie Falconari who is now known as fashionista Kate Howard.  The Falconari cousins grew up in Bensonhurst together and while Olivia remained a Falconari residing in her birthplace, Connie dropped the Falconari name as well as all ties to her family to jump on the fast track in New York City to create a fashion publishing empire. She managed to create that empire but it always seemed as though something was missing from her life.  Later, she came to Port Charles and reconnected with her first love Sonny Corinthos. 

     Sigh.  Are you still with me here?  The Bensonhurst cousins have also shared romantic ties to on again--off again mobster Sonny Corinthos in their respective pasts and this has made for some interesting chick cousin fights on General Hospital.  Cousin Olivia has a child fathered by Corinthos but neither one of the Falconari cousins have let him know that. 

     So, Sonny brings his former Bensonhurst lover Olivia to town to attend his wedding to his other former Bensonhurst lover Kate and the cousins have been clashing ever since--despite the fact that the wedding never happened.  How could it?  Kate Howard took a bullet at the altar at the hands of one of her future husbands rival mobsters determined to get back at him for one of his many mobster indiscretions. 

    While this all sounds confusing if you don't watch the show, it's a simple plot to follow if you happen to be a General Hospital fan.  Port Charles has literally become "Mobster Place" and the Port Charles PD has been likened to the "Keystone Cops" because of their total inability to ever gather enough evidence to nab just one mobster. 

     The mobster activity that has been going on with more fury than the Energizer Bunny has become a total sleeper in my mind.  It makes me want to bring in Tony Soprano to clean up this hideous mess. 

    It is for that reason I am enjoying the Falconari chick cousin fights so much these days.  Olivia Falconari shoots from the hip, has street smarts and causes the hair on the head of her cousin Kate's 2000 watt masterpiece blond bob to literally stand up on end.  Olivia Falconari is bringing out the worst in Kate Howard...aka Connie Falconari and I for one, am enjoying the conflict.

     It's just better than the bullets and blood that have become the signature scenic backdrop on General Hospital these days.

     I was just thinking--does anyone in Bensonhurst miss Olivia Falconari?  Why do you think she's still in town?  Where's her son and who is paying her rent?   Do Drop your comments here.
